The Jacket!
My take on Jackets
During the time we have been designing and creating our gorgeous unique ladies fashions the item that I think we see our customers most interested in purchasing are the looser more flattering Jackets.
A jacket can be thrown over most items of clothing, especially our brighter printed ones which really are statement pieces.
Where it began
Back in 1996 the jackets we originally designed had a few buttons and pockets but as the demand for a Kita Ku garment arose, we realized that a simpler version of a jacket was required. At about that time our tailor in Bali had purchased her first Juki Sewing (rolled edge) Machine. This machine allowed us to form a small rolled hemline of cotton stitching edge and eliminate the need to have a bulkier hem.
Thus ‘the edge to edge’ Jacket was able to look very different and also to hang more freely. The bounce to the fabric was really attractive and it allowed for different contrasting coloured cottons to be used on the edges of the front and hem to compliment any colour in the pattern on the body of the Jacket.
From that point on we continued with the same block pattern and modified the length, style, sleeve, and other features e.g. High low hemline, scooped hem. Whatever the season trend was we could accommodate. This proved very popular and this fabulous Jacket Lotus is still part of the Kita Ku Jacket Range.
We have jackets in prints and plains, plus a favourite – The Travel Jacket Lily too which is available in our Kita Ku Basics Range. Manufactured in our quality stretch 90% rayon 10% lycra fabric.
The Lily Jacket is the same block as the Jacket Baby Lotus however modified for stretch fabric. The hems are also stitched as opposed to the rolled version.
Remember ladies a Jacket can brighten your day, give confidence of appearance, and cover all – whatever you wish. When you travel just roll them up, not fold, and you are ready to go!!
