"Together we believe the best in us enriches all of us"

The Kita Ku unique ladies plus size clothing range commenced its exciting journey back in 1996, with the opening of an inner Melbourne retail boutique in the vibrant shopping strip of Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn. Back then ‘Kita Abadi’ began to offer their discerning clients a range of plus size original garments with a difference. The phenomenal response was amazing right from the start, confirming was a void in the fashion industry for clothing that appealed to the more mature yet "young at heart" woman.

There was definitely a lack of imagination when it came to fabric colours, designs and textures, particularly in large size women's clothing styles. By 2002 fully confident that our design formula was correct, the local and international label   Kita Ku was born.

Since the 1980's Sandra has travelled to and lived in Bali, an inspirational island of immense creativity and beauty. It was here that she observed the various methods of hand dying fabric, batik stamping and sourcing exotic fabrics. Now, through  Kita Ku, we apply the artistic skills of the Balinese and Javanese to create fabulous, aesthetically appealing and naturally inspired fabrics.

During the last 3 years, we have travelled to India where we have sourced some beautiful cotton hand-embellished garments to add to our already fabulous collection.  Kita Ku now calls the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria home and it is here we are constantly inspired by the beautiful surrounds to create new and wonderful clothing for all.

Enjoy the experience,
Nicki Sharma, Director
